Study Plan

The study plan for the Degree in Digital Creation, Animation, and Video Games is structured so that students progressively acquire the knowledge necessary to design and develop the various content elements that will be integrated into the overall production process.

The study plan is divided into four years, totaling 240 ECTS credits distributed across eight semesters of 30 credits each. Core and required subjects are worth 6 credits; elective courses are worth 4.5 credits; external internships are worth 9 credits; and the Final Degree Project is worth 12 credits.

The first year begins with the theoretical foundations and an overview of the animation and video game production process, where the various components covered in the subsequent courses will be integrated. Students are also introduced to the artistic and technical fundamentals of digital content creation (drawing, modeling, lighting, programming), common to both animation and video game productions. These skills will be further specialized in later years to be applied to each specific field.

The second course focuses on animation production, covering the entire process from ideation to final assembly of an animated piece. By the end of the course, students will have completed a full animation project, applying the concepts from various subjects within a real-world production.

The third course focuses on the creation of interactive content, especially video games. Building on all the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous courses, it delves deeper into the various tasks involved in video game design and development, culminating in a playable project. Concepts used in animation are adapted to video game production, thus providing a comprehensive overview of both industries by analyzing their similarities and differences.

The fourth and final year is structured around three areas. First, students will choose their specialization by selecting elective courses that complement and expand upon the content studied in the first three years. Second, the Business and Entrepreneurship course, along with mandatory external internships, will prepare students for the professional world, whether through self-employment or salaried work.

Finally, students will complete their Final Degree Project (TFG), which will consist of an animation production or a video game. Given the nature and potential scale of these projects, group TFGs are encouraged, although individual submissions are also welcome.
