Estefanía Calo is graduated in Sociology from the University of A Coruña in 2008 and obtained a Bachelor with Honors in Social Sciences from the University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland in 2007. Throughout this period she developed her main lines of research centered, fundamentally, in Urban Sociology and Territory in particular in: housing, residential needs, residential policies, housing and territory, city and mobility. He made different research stays in different institutions among which is the Center for Urban History, at the University of Leicester in 2012. He received his doctorate with international mention in 2015 with the thesis "The residential system in Spain: components, operation and needs of housing ". In recent years she was professor in Sociology at the UDC and in the Master in Communication of the University of Milagro in Ecuador. It has also opened a new line of research related to residential energy poverty, participating in research projects at the UDC and the University of Santiago de Compostela.
