Estefanía Tarrío Maneiro has a degree in Education, specialising in Early Childhood Education (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, 2012) and a degree in Sociology (Universidade da Coruña, 2017). She has completed a Master's Degree in Applied Sociology: Social and Market Research (Universidade da Coruña, 2019). In addition, she has obtained a pre-doctoral FPU contract (Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities) for the 2019 call, and is currently developing her doctoral thesis, which deals with underground music productions in Galicia and its understanding through Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

She has received the First National End of Degree Award (Ministry of Science and Innovation, 2021), the End of Degree Award for the Autonomous Community of Galicia (Department of Education, University and Vocational Training, 2018), as well as the Extraordinary Awards for End of Degree and End of Master's Studies (Universidade da Coruña, 2017 and 2019 respectively).

Her research interests are multidisciplinary: Cultural Studies, Sociology of Music, Ethnomusicology, Urban Sociology, and History, among others. She has recently completed an international research stay in the Department of History at the University of Reading (UK).
