Estefanía López Salas

lopez salasPh.D. in Architecture, with the Extraordinary Architecture Award from the Universidade da Coruña (2010) and the End of Degree Award from the Xunta de Galicia (2009). She has a Master in Architectural Rehabilitation from the same university (2010), where she also developed her Ph.D. between 2011 and 2015, which obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award (2016), with the title "San Julián de Samos (Lugo), study and interpretation of the monastic design and its evolution".

Her research focuses on the history of monastic architecture and sacred landscape, with a multidisciplinary approach, combining historical sources, in situ research, and digital technologies within the field of Art History and Digital Architecture. Her work has been widely published in various scientific journals and books and she has given lectures at national and international conferences in Spain, Portugal, England, Poland, Croatia, the United States, France, and Italy, which have obtained various grants and distinctions from, among others, the Getty Foundation (2018-2020) and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation (2014, 2019).

She is currently an Assistant Professor in the area of Architectural Composition in the Department of Architectural Projects, Urban Planning and Composition at the University of A Coruña and teaches at the School of Architecture in A Coruña and the School of Industrial Design and the Faculty of Humanities and Documentation at the Esteiro Campus in Ferrol.
