The mission of the Library is to support teaching, learning, research and the integral training of its students and teachers in particular, and of all people in general. This facilitates the access and dissemination of information resources, manages spaces, equipment and services, and collaborates in the processes of transforming information into knowledge. In this way, the Library adds value and contributes to the functions of the University at the service of society.
The 101 librarians of the BUDC attend 23,664 users from 17 service points. The library's collection includes 862,156 books, 111,474 ebooks and 51,238 documents in other formats, such as maps, microforms, DVDs, etc. The BUDC also has 9.274 paper magazines and 27.288 in digital format, as well as giving access to 59 databases that cover all scientific disciplines. All this material represents an annual budget of approximately two million Euros.
They are full users of the Library all the people who are members of the UDC university community. Users of the loan service may be subject to those other persons expressly authorized by the Library or belonging to entities with which there are agreements or agreements to use this service.
The general public service hours are from 08.30 a.m. to 09.30 p.m., from Monday to Friday. This schedule can be reduced during vacation periods.
