About us

CLEU —that is, Cultures and Literatures from the United States of America— is a research group (internal code G000604) that specializes in American Studies.

We are part of the English section of the Department of Language, Literature and Culture located in the Faculty of Philology at the University of A Coruña (Galicia, Spain).

Our group studies North-American cultural productions, with a focus on literary studies, and aims to draw attention to the challenges posed by an increasingly globalized world. In CLEU we believe in the importance of establishing networks among scholars and disciplines. This realization has led our members to collaborate in diverse national and international projects. In this spirit, we are open to future exchanges with other research groups.

CLEU has received funding from the Regional Government of Galicia, the Government of Spain and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund).
