Research

The Health and Podiatry Research Group carries out a consolidated and continuously growing scientific activity in the field of health sciences, with a specific focus on clinical podiatry, biomechanics, orthopaedics, and health promotion.

In terms of scientific output, the group has produced more than 420 publications, mainly articles in scientific journals, demonstrating a strong capacity for knowledge generation and dissemination. This activity is complemented by active participation in presentations at scientific conferences, fostering the transfer and discussion of results at both national and international levels.

In the field of training, GISAP stands out for the supervision of more than 30 doctoral theses, with sustained output in recent years, contributing to the training of new researchers and the consolidation of research lines.

Regarding R&D&I activities, the group participates in and leads research projects at national and regional levels, as well as in collaboration with companies and foundations, aimed at both advancing knowledge and its clinical application. This activity also includes clinical studies, technical advisory work, and collaboration with healthcare institutions.

In the area of knowledge transfer, GISAP develops significant activity through the registration of patents, medical and podiatric devices, utility models, and software, promoting the practical application of research results in the healthcare and productive sectors.

Research activity is further complemented by the conduct of epidemiological and clinical studies (clinical trials, cohort studies, and case-control studies), the evaluation of research projects and researchers, as well as participation in scientific networks and editorial work for international journals.

Finally, the group carries out its activity in alignment with European principles of excellence in research careers, in accordance with the HRS4R (Human Resources Strategy for Researchers), promoting good practices in recruitment, ethics, training, and professional development of research staff.
