Luísa Villalta is the author honoured in the Día das Letras Galegas 2024. In this exhibition you can see several outstanding creations of this writer, philologist and musician, extracted from the own funds of the libraries of the UDC and the Biblioteca-Arquivo Pillado Mayor: the original text of ‘Música reservada’ (the writer's first book of poems) and the unpublished manuscript of the play ‘Os pasos contados’, as well as a calligram of the poem from the play ‘Ruído’; this is the only calligram in colour that Luísa Villalta made and one of the two she made, together with that of ‘Rota ao interior do ollo’. Published works by the writer and essays about her and her work complete the exhibition.

comic and memory

Comic and memory: drawing the Civil War

(February-March 2024)

As Michel Matly explains in his article "Drawing the Civil War. Representation of the Civil War (1936-1939) in comics published since 1976" (2015), the relative abundance of comics on the Civil War published since 1976 shows the interest that this historical episode continues to arouse both in Spain and abroad. At the end of 2013, there were 313 comics published since 1976 that dealt with the war in whole or in part, and this number has continued to grow until the present day. This exhibition shows some of them, present in the collections of the UDC, among which stand out those starring writers who suffered the fratricidal conflict.
