International PhD by the University of A Coruña (UDC). Substitute Professor (2010 - 2019), Assistant Professor (2019 - 2021) and Associate Professor (present) at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of the University of A Coruña.
Her research focuses on the technical-economic study of marine renewable energies: offshore wind energy, wave energy, hybrid systems of marine energy, etc. Her research activity was developed in various international research projects and in several foreign research centers in the field of marine renewable energy. As a result of these investigations, several articles in high-impact journals have been published.
She is currently principal investigator of the following projects:
(1) European project ARCWIND “Adaptation and implementation of floating wind energy conversion technology for the Atlantic region”.
(2) Spanish national project SEARENEW "Design of a tool for the selection of offshore renewable energy locations and technologies: application to Spanish territorial waters".
(3) Spanish national project SEASUN "Characterization of a software to determine the roadmap of the offshore solar energy in the Spanish shore".
(4) European project Erasmus+ "STEM Is Inspiring Future Careers".
As a result of her research activity, she has received the following awards: the First Prize of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Galicia (2009), the Prize for the best poster at the DeepWind Congress in Norway (2013) and the IX González Llanos Research Prize in the area of naval engineering (2014).
Almudena Filgueira Vizoso is a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of A Coruña since 2012. She currently has a position as Associate Professor since 2013 and develop her research and her classes in the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of A Coruña.
Her main lines of research are related to offshore renewable energies and environmental engineering. She has published numerous papers, book chapters and books in different prestigious journals and editorials, has participated in numerous conferences related to the subject and is currently part of three research projects and several agreements with companies.
PhD in Industrial Engineering from Universidade da Coruña since 2012. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the University and develops her research and classes at the Ferrol Polytechnic School of Engineering of the Universidade da Coruña.
Her main lines of research are related to marine renewable energy and environmental engineering, as well as the reduction of emissions in marine diesel engines. She published numerous works, book chapters and books in different prestigious magazines and publishing houses and participated in numerous conferences related to the subject.

PhD in Industrial Engineering by the UDC since 2005. Honorary Professor (2021 - present). After 14 years of experience in shipyards, since joining the university his main lines of research have been related to industrial applications of the laser (1995 - 2009). In 2016 he became part of the Mixed Engineering Group (GEM) carrying out work related to the development of artificial reef systems for the regeneration of estuaries and estuaries and with the ANEP areas of: Naval Constructions, Engineering and transport infrastructures, Mechanical Engineering and Electric Engineering.
In all these areas he has published numerous works, book chapters and books in different magazines and publishing houses of recognized prestige and participated in numerous congresses related to these subjects.
