Second Announcement - Call for Papers

The First International Conference of the Spanish Society for Linguistic Historiography (I Congreso Internacional de la Sociedad Española de Historiografía Lingüística) will be held at the University of Coruña (Galicia, Spain), 18-21 February 1997. The Conference is organized by the Department of Spanish and Latin Philology (U. of Coruña), the Department of General Linguistics and Literary Theory (U. of Coruña), the C.I.L.L. "Ramón Piñeiro," and the Spanish Society for Linguistic Historiography.

Sessions will take place at the Facultade de Filoloxía, University of Coruña. The Program will include plenary sessions and paper sessions (twenty minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion). The following plenary speakers have already confirmed their attendance:

• Hans Niederehe: La lingüística española en el contexto internacional. Influencias y dependencias
• Juan Zamora Munné: La gramática en las poéticas y la poética en las gramáticas

GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS:

1. Papers must be original and deal with any aspect of linguistic historiography.

2. Paper abstracts (one page maximum) must be submitted anonymously to the Conference Organizing Committee (Facultade de Filoloxía, Universidade da Coruña, Campus de Elviña s/n, 15071 Coruña, Spain). The author's name, address, and paper title should be enclosed on a separate sheet. The deadline for paper submissions has been extended until November 10, 1996.

3. The official languages of the conference will be Spanish and Galician. Papers written in other major languages will also be accepted. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided at the Conference.

4. The anonymous abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference Scientific Committee. Authors will be informed by the Organizing Committee as to paper acceptance.
