Juan José Giraldo-Huertas is a psychologist with extensive expertise in Cognitive Development. He completed his undergraduate studies and a Master of Science in Psychology, with a focus on Cognitive development, at Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. He later earned his PhD in Psychology from the University of Reading, UK.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor, Researcher, and former Head of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, Universidad de la Sabana. With over 20 years of experience, he has taught and conducted research in both public and private Universities across Latinoamerica. Dr. Giraldo-Huertas also provides consulting for Secondary Education institutions, focusing on research and curriculum development.
He has been awarded scholarships by the British Council for Colombia-UK research collaboration and by Colombia’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation to support his doctoral studies abroad (Convocatoria #860 of 2019). A member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a spotlighted Latinx Caucus member of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), he also led the Even Start of Life Program as Principal Investigator from 2012 to 2015.
