MARCELO FAJARDO-PRUNA (Member IEEE) holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Sobresaliente Cum Laude) from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2018) and is a researcher and educator in robotics, simulation, and intelligent control systems. He is currently a faculty member at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) with experience in 2024 as a visiting professor at the Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. His expertise lies in robotics applications, particularly developing simulation models for robotic systems integrating tools like ROS (Robot Operating System) and MATLAB. Dr. Fajardo has led research projects on autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robotics, and digital twins for predictive maintenance, focusing on dynamic and kinematic analyses. His work includes the simulation of robotic mechanisms for industrial and environmental applications, such as autonomous sailboats and wind turbine monitoring.
