Present research interests
My current research is focused on the plant induced resistance by biological agents and chemical inductors. I am particularly interested in the effect of PO212 as biological control fungi against abiotic and biotic stresses, including the heavy metal copper and the pathogens Verticillium dahliae and Fusarium oxisporum.
Also I am interested in the regulation of seed dormancy establishment and alleviation. During my PhD I studied the effect of after-ripening and nitrate in the seed dormancy of the Brassicaceae Sisymbrium officinale. I sequenced several dormancy related genes and analyzed the changes on their expression patterns during seed development and germination.
