Present research interest
At the present time we are developing protocols to get in vitro cultures of woody species in photoautotrophic conditions, both in solid and liquid media. Moreover, we are analysing the in vitro cultures by measuring different compounds and enzymes related to stress and carbon metabolism., with the aim of explain the physiological basis of the behaviour of the explants. We work with three types of plants: Salix viminalis, as a model organism, Prunus domestica cv “Claudia blanca país”, a landrace of plum grown in Galicia, and hybrid chestnuts (Castanea) resistant to Phytophthora cinnamomi.
