WP6 · Research - knowledge co-creation to address challenges of our territories

EMERGE research focuses on multidisciplinary, international, challenge-driven and community-driven co-creation of knowledge. The primary objective of WP6 is to strengthen the research community and its resources with a focus on developing robust research tools for the consortium to better address the global and local challenges impacting our territories and communities. The process of cocreating knowledge will focus on facilitating methods, resources and shared ambition with the aim of strengthening links between research, industry, government and civil society. Our research will be representative of a voice of the margins, researching in and for the margins, but also involving them. This will be done through activities that promote collaboration and knowledge dissemination, developing a research and innovation environment that consciously engages the whole of society, while upholding the principles of open, digital, green and resilient academic production. In line with this ambition, we have defined the following set of objectives:

  • Create a joint pool of resources which will reinforce the quality, performance, impact, and attractiveness of our research.
  • Foster practical experiences, entrepreneurial mind-sets and civic engagement of students
  • Strengthen academic careers
  • Boost Open Science, open education and open data
  • Integrating the challenge-based approach
  • Enhance community-based participatory research in/for/with/on the margins
