Architecture, landscape, tourism
Provisional key dates
The 1st Transnational Scientific Congress: Atlantic Maritime Heritage and Blue Tourism, aimed to delve deeper into the interrelationships between maritime architecture and landscapes, and blue tourism. The conference encourages joint reflection on built maritime heritage and how these constructions and landscapes interact with contemporary tourism dynamics.
Taking the European Atlantic coast as a connector, the conference forms part of the SEALabHaus project, which promotes an integrated approach to architecture, art, culture, tourism, sustainability, professionalisation and training. The interconnection between maritime heritage and blue tourism reveals new development opportunities and challenges that require transdisciplinary and collaborative approaches.
With its rich maritime tradition, coastline modified by maritime architecture and commitment to blue tourism, Galicia is the ideal setting for this congress. The city of A Coruña, which is hosting the event, is notable for its historical connection to the sea, as well as for the active role of its university in leading knowledge and innovation in this field.
The conference invites researchers from various disciplines to share their experiences, create synergies and consider the future of the Atlantic coast together.
