The UDC Network of R&D Centers and Units (REDCIDi) was created on December 20, 2022 by the Governing Council within the framework of the actions of one of the main axes of the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan of the UDC: the commitment to achieving excellence in research.

This effort to develop excellent research, given the increasingly changing conditions of the environment, generated the need to adopt new dimensions in the UDC's organizational structures with the aim of coordinating the research centers, standardizing processes and serve as a communication bridge between the centers and the UDC's planning and management units.

The unit is comprised of a Strategic Director and a Technical Management Unit (with hired support personnel) to be able to assist the research centers with the greatest possible agility, focusing all attention on strengthening the structures of UDC's research centers and promoting quality research that enhances internationalization, multidisciplinarity and the scientific leadership of the centers.
