Abstract: The project aims towards identifying all of the traces of maritime architecture, hence, industrial buildings linked to ocean-based professions, together with other elements that trasnformed the coastline with the intents of taking advantage of the resources the ocean and rías have to offer, taking place in the waterfront comprised in the Rías de Muros - Noia and Arousa, and more specifically, along the concellos in between Dodro and Outes bringing up these elements amongst Camino de Santiago's cultural richness.

DORNA II

Title: DORNA II. (Continuity project)

Abstract: During this second phase of the project the aim switched to appreciating those oceanside landscapes and their maritime industrial built heritage and traces alongside the Galician Coast, due to the relevance of the latter. An archive was created with more than 300 buildings such as Carpinterías de ribeira, from the previous phase, cetáreas, salting factories

En la fase de ampliación de Dorna se ha procedido a valorar los paisajes marítimos y patrimonio marítimo industrial asociado situado a lo largo de la Costa Gallega, por el destacado valor de estas construcciones. Se realizó un inventario de más de 300 construcciones entre Carpinterías de Ribera, que ya venía de la fase anterior, Cetáreas, Fábricas de salazón, Molinos de Mareas, Fábricas balleneras o conserveras.

DORNA

Title: DORNA. Sustainable and Organized Resources Development in the NW Atlantic Ocean

Abstract: DORNA focuses on the development and promotion of traditional ships from an economical sustaintability and cultural diversity perspective. This project's goals are:

1. Identify and bring up nautic heritage from Atlantic European regions.

2. Promotion and recovery of adjacent culture to this Atlantic traditional ships.

3. Endogenous and sustainable development of the Atlantic European traditional shipping industry. 

4. growth of the touristic sector, introducing new products linked with Atlantic culture.

5. Increase the usage of traditional ships as nautic models, based on their lower carbon footprint that is less agressive with the environment.

Fishernet

Title: Fishernet. Rede de Patrimonio Cultural Pesqueiro

Period of time: 08/2008 a 08/2011

Financial Entity: Unión Europea 

Abstract: This project brings up the concern in fishing communities in different parts of Europe, Lira, O Pindo and Muros in Galicia and others communities such as these in Iceland, Norway, Scotland, Cyprus and Bulgaria, due to the at risk situation fishing cultural heritage is, direct consequence from structural, social and economical changes that affected the fishing activity in Europe through these last decades. This network's goal is to unite communities from different regions of Europe that are working on identifying, restoration and outreach of this heritage.
