So, what we do?

The Research Staff Recruitment Office (OCPI), which reports to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer, was created in 2023 with the aim of supporting policies and programmes related to the recruitment of talent at the UDC.

The UDC's commitment to attracting and retaining talent is not an incipient trend, but arises from the institution's vision to promote the development of high-level research and is the means to increase the participation and success of our university in national ( Ramón y CajalBeatriz GalindoATRAE...) and international (ERC grantsMarie Skłodowska-Curie Actions...) calls for excellent science.

As a reflection of this strategic commitment, the UDC has been working for years on two pioneering programmes aimed at attracting and retaining research talent, such as the Berce programme and the InTalent programme.

The attraction and retention of talent is a fundamental driving force for the advancement of research, teaching and management quality indicators. With this in mind, the main functions assigned to the OCPI are as follows:

  • Design and coordinate the UDC's talent attraction plan.
  • Identify and promote internal talent, as well as attract new research staff, whether emerging or consolidated, with proven scientific production of quality, who are interested in developing their research career at the UDC.
  • To offer advice, technical support and support to research staff in the development of excellent science proposals, with special attention to externally recruited research staff and those trained at the UDC.
  • Facilitate the incorporation and adaptation of new research staff to the UDC, ensuring a smooth transition and a productive start to their research work.
  • To manage and execute its own programmes and projects to attract talent.
  • Support the preparation of institutional strategic proposals.
  • Other actions related to the promotion of scientific excellence.
