Marcelo Chouza is Lecturer in Physiotherapy, Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Universidade da Coruña since 1996. He is a Graduate in Physiotherapy by Universidade da Coruña, and Graduate in Physiotherapy by Universidad de Vigo. He also has an Advanced Degree in Physiatrics and Kinesiology by Universidad de General San Martín de Buenos Aires. He continued his studies obtaining a Master's Degree in Assistance and Sanitary Investigation by Universidade da Coruña and earned his PhD in the same university in 2011. He currently teaches in the subjects of: Physiotherapy in Oncological, Biochemical and Tegumentary Disabilities, Physiotherapy in Neurological and Aging Dysfunctions and in the subject Clinical Stays of the degree degree in Physiotherapy, Applied Techniques in the degree of Graduate in Occupational Therapy and Support Technology for the Disabled in the University Master's Degree in Disability and Dependency.
Scientific interest
From the beginning of his teaching career he was linked to the intervention on elderly people and people with functional diversity caused by degenerative neurological diseases. Thus, his PhD thesis studied the effects of a vibratory platform on gait and balance in patients with Parkinson's disease. He has also researched the effects of different physiotherapy interventions on elderly people, both healthy and affected by various pathologies.
