Lucía Adán is a Criminology Graduate by Universitat de Barcelona. After some years working as an analyst at the International Criminal Court in Den Haag (Netherlands), in 2016 she obtained a Master's Degree in Neuroscience by Universidad de Santiago de Compostela and she finished her Master's Thesis in NEUROcom, introducing herself in the study of Physiology. She is a member of Spanish Society of Neuroscience and she is currently studying a PhD in Neurosciences at the Health Sciences Faculty, focused on the effect of non invasive brain stimulation techniques. She obtained a PhD Scholarship from Xunta de Galicia in 2017 and she also teaches practical courses to students from Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy since 2018-2019.
Scientific Interests
Throughout her university career her interests have been focused on the study of deliquency and drug addiction, which brought her to analyze in a deeper way the addictive behavior in humans, starting with the Master's Degree and continuing with her PhD. She wants to understand not only the physiological bases of tobacco addiction, but to find a treatment which improves the quality of life of addicts to this substance. In a future she expects to extrapolate these results to the treatment of other type of drug addictions.
