José L. Pardo is a Doctor in Psychology (Award with Honors, 2008) by Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Fellowship in  Scientists Training, Ministerio de Ciencia). Besides, he also completed his postgraduate training with a Master's Degree in Experimental Psychology (University of Santiago de Compostela, 2004) and another one in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, 2006). He did his postdoctoral stay at Champalimaud Center for the Unknown (Lisbon, Portugal), as part of the Dynamics and Computation Laboratory, with a Long-Term grant from the Human Frontier Science Program. He is currently an Associate Researcher at Universidade da Coruña.

Scientific Interest
He has focused his career on the study of behavioral and neuronal correlates of perceptual decision making, with special interest in the mechanisms responsible for the evaluation of results and the behavioral adjustments derived from such evaluation. For this purpose, electrophysiological records were used, in humans (electroencephalograms) and in primates (individual neurons), during the performance of psychophysical tasks. In recent years he has studied the factors that limit the sensory processing of auditory stimuli in rats, both from a behavioural point of view and for studying the activity of local corticais circuits.
