Research interests

Dr Massó's principal research interests lie in the social consequences of financialization, as well as the evolution of money and how the alternative finance movement is shaping a new conception of the economy and its relationship with the common good. She has extensive experience in economic sociology, specifically in financialization studies and the sociology of money and financial innovation. Her most recent research into financialization and employment shows that the logic of monetary accumulation derived from the financial sphere is associated with the deterioration of working conditions, as well as with the widening gap in social inequality that affects large segments of the European population's economy.
