I’m currently a Professor of Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy, the University of Jordan (UJ). I’ve received my bachelor degree in Pharmacy from UJ (2007), then my PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Pisa–Italy (2011).
At UJ I’m involved in lecturing pharmacotherapy and clinical pharmacy modules to undergraduate/postgraduate students as well as in supervising students during their clinical clerkships and mentoring MSc students during their research projects.
Currently I am leading active research groups in two main research fields; 1) discovering novel pharmacological strategies for the treatment of cancer, with particular interest on the inflammatory aspect of this proliferative disease and 2) clinical pharmacy, focusing on patients’ knowledge/adherence and the role of clinical pharmacists in providing appropriate patients' education and pharmacotherapy.
Beside teaching, I am also very active in several school and local committees such as the bioequivalence (Jordanian FDA), website, ACPE accreditation, research and conference committees.
In 2016 I’ve conducted a 6-month post-doctoral research fellowship in pharmacology (Erasmus Mundus) at the University of Pavia, Italy. I have also been awarded a one-year fellowship in research ethics from the University of California - San Diego (2017).
I can communicate in Arabic, English and Italian.
