Name: Dr Stephan HOUGHTON

Dr Stephan HOUGHTON has been teaching English in higher education since 2005. Following his PhD at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (1992), he completed two post-doctoral research positions before becoming a technical manager for a UK Research Council in 1998. He then completed an MSc at Imperial College London, UK (2001) before working for Goldman Sachs International, London.

Following his move to France in 2005, he taught English at the University of Clermont-Auvergne (2005-2014), the University of Reunion Island (2014-22) and the University of French Guiana (2022-2024). He now teaches Business English at the University of French Polynesia. He is also interested in English for academic purposes, scientific and technical English, and student mobility.
