Introduction

The Project Engineering and Management Group (GRIDP, in translation) works in applied research in the field of the engineering and management of construction and energy projects, with an orientation towards the transfer of knowledge to companies and public bodies. The group maintains relations with other Spanish and foreign research groups.

Its members have extensive educational, research and professional experience in companies and public bodies, in technical and managerial positions, having participated in more than 100 projects and contracts. Their profiles include knowledge and experience in construction engineering and management, energy technologies, and industrial, mechanical and electrical engineering. Some members have more than 30 years of experience.

The group's activity is focused on the two classic axes of knowledge generation, and knowledge transfer to the industry and public bodies. This activity is structured in the following lines of work:

  • Sustainability assessment, optimization and management. Sustainable design in construction and energy engineering.
  • Sustainable energy planning. Renewable energies.
  • Sustainable assessment for decision making.
  • Project management.

The group has the capacity for:

  • The conception and management of construction and energy projects.
  • Understanding the usual needs and circumstances of the technical and managerial staff of companies and public bodies, in order to work effectively with them in the pursuit of their objectives.
  • Developing R+D+i projects in the four lines of work referred to, within the framework of companies or public bodies.
  • Helping project teams of companies and public bodies to organize, synthesize and exploit their knowledge of innovative issues, to build with them models to solve their problems and achieve their project objectives.
  • Conceiving and developing software for different purposes, related to those lines of work.
