Pedro Calaza Martínez


He holds a PhD in engineering from USC (2007) and a PhD in Landscape Architecture from University of Lisbon (2016). He is Project Engineer and Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineers of Galicia and Secretary of Galician Engineering Board. Also he is member of Expert Committee of Galician Landscape School.
He develops his professional activity in the private sector, specifically in planning, design, performances and management of green urban areas and public spaces. He complements his activity as researcher and teacher in green infrastructure, urban forestry and Landscape Architecture projects.
He has published numerous articles related to urban planning and green infrastructure. In 2012, he published, together with Dr. Isabel Iglesias Díaz, “Evaluación de riesgo de arbolado: principios, indicadores y métodos” and They won Juan Julio Prize. Four years later, He and Dra. Iglesias published the book: “El riesgo de arbolado urbano: contexto, concepto y evaluación”. In 2017, he published: “Infraestructura verde. Sistema natural de Salud and won 46th National Technical Book´s San Miguel Prize.
He is member of the Steering Committee of Spanish Society of Public Parks and Gardens, where he is Coordinator of the commission to study “Urban tree and Norma Granada”.
