VANCOUVER STYLE

The Vancouver style is the most commonly used for referencing scientific publications in the health sciences. It takes its name from the meeting held in 1978 in that city between important scientific editors, which led to the creation of the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) and the establishment of recommendations for publication in biomedical journals. Since 2007, the National Library of Medicine from United States (NLM) has taken over and published "Citing Medicine", which is considered the main source for citation in Vancouver. On this page you will find a brief and easy-to-understand guide to "Citing Medicine".
