Spanish language and culture course. Advanced
By the end of this course students should be able to speak fluent Spanish in any situation and about any subject.
Students in this course are supposed to have the knowledge for both beginners and intermediate courses, so any revision to previous knowledge will depend on the teacher’s criterion. The grammar for this course will cover the following subjects: future perfect, all types of conditional, subjunctive use of adverbs, passive voice. In the vocabulary section, more than just learning new vocabulary, students will be encourage to use all vocabulary previously learned, so they will be able to speak, for example, about their future career or solving problems through the telephone. The cultural aspect will deep on art and literature, or colloquial expressions and slang. Any other aspect (in any section) could be included depending on the criterion of the teacher or if students ask for it.
The lessons of this course will vary from traditional explanation of grammar and a variety of different exercises to put in practice the theory, including comprehension texts, audio activities (songs, real conversations, etc.), games and also oral practice.
Required Course Materials
The only material that is required is a notebook to take notes and write exercises.
Along the three weeks of lessons, several texts (at least one a week) will take place to check students acquire the new information and are able to use it properly. In case a student misses a test, they will have a final exam at the end of the course.
An oral exposition might also take place if the results of the tests or exam are not enough for the student to pass the course, or if they fail in achieving the number of hours required for the course (80% of the hours) with a justified reason. If they do not attend the 80% of the hours with no justified reason, they will fail the course, and therefore they will not receive their certificate of attendance.
