As part of the Galician University System, the Research Group CLEU (reference G000604) is especially committed to "American Studies" and, more precisely, to the recent approaches of Ethnocriticism and Ecocriticism.

From the Department of English Philology at the University of Coruña, CLEU seeks to encourage the research of "American (US) Studies" by means of the creation and the consolidation of research networks with other groups. CLEU not only carries out research in the field of cultural and literary studies, but it also tries to engage with other research areas, due to the interdisciplinary nature of its different objects of study (gender, ecology, ethnic diversity or multiculturalism).

The official funds have reinforced our research activity and allowed us to initiate a collective research project named "Human Ecology". Our intention is to encourage the critical reflection on our "social ecosystem" through the analysis of a corpus of literary and artistic works articulated in conjunction with the theories of environmental studies and multiculturalism.
