CITEEC Activity

There are three main areas of activity at CITEEC, coinciding with the three pillars of university research:

  • Promoting basic research: Conducting studies that broaden knowledge in fields related to construction. The completion of doctoral theses and degree dissertations is the mechanism by which this type of research is promoted, closely linked to university departments.
  • Obtaining funding for research (Xunta de Galicia, MEC, European Union funds), CITEEC supports research projects, in collaboration with diverse companies and organizations.
  • Advising companies and institutions: CITEEC is a very unique structure, one of its kind in our Autonomous Community, available to business and institutional organisms through collaboration agreements, as support in the realization of projects or actions that require hydraulic studies in a physical model, or detailed studies of infrastructures.

Each of these areas generates its own projects and uses its own equipment and facilities, all of which are part of the Centre's equipment.

CITEEC has the infrastructure necessary to undertake large scale testings, at the level of the most advanced centers within Europe.
